Tradier multi-account order entry in TraderDesk
TraderDesk connects to Tradier with an access token and the account ID it belongs to. It routes US equities, ETFs and listed options, and Tradier's sandbox gives you a place to test the connection before using a funded account. Market data may be delayed unless your Tradier plan includes a live feed.
What routes
What can you route on Tradier?
Brokerage API with a sandbox for testing. Segments below are the ones the current build shows. Your account still needs the permissions and data subscriptions the broker requires.
- US equities and ETFs through the Tradier brokerage API.
- Listed options, subject to your Tradier account approval.
- The Tradier sandbox for testing without live orders.
- Multiple Tradier accounts, each with its own token and account ID.
Setup
How to connect Tradier to TraderDesk
Four steps. The exact labels differ in the broker's dashboard, but the sequence is the same.
- 01
Create a Tradier application
In your Tradier account settings, request API access and create an application to obtain an access token.
- 02
Note the account ID
Each Tradier account has its own account number. The token and the account ID are paired in TraderDesk.
- 03
Choose sandbox or live
Point the connection at the sandbox for the first test, then add the live credentials as a separate account.
- 04
Test, then send
Confirm the account balances and order permissions appear before sending a small order.
Before you go live
- Options approval and permitted strategies are set by Tradier.
- Real-time market data depends on your Tradier data subscription; without it, quotes may be delayed.
- Tradier does not offer futures through this connection.
Multi-account
Can you trade several Tradier accounts at once?
Add each account as its own connection, then tick the accounts you want on the order ticket. Each account reports its own result, so a rejection on one does not hide the outcome on another.
- Every account has its own label on the order ticket.
- The send button states how many accounts will receive the order.
- Results are shown per account after the order is sent.
- Risk limits are applied before routing, on your PC.
Tradier questions
Common Tradier questions
What credentials does Tradier need?
An access token created in your Tradier API settings and the account ID the token is authorised for. Treat the token like a password.
Is there a Tradier sandbox?
Yes. Tradier provides a sandbox environment for testing. Add it as a separate connection so sandbox and live accounts are never mixed on one ticket.
Why does Tradier show delayed quotes?
Tradier market data depends on your plan. Without a live data subscription the feed may be delayed. Confirm the subscription with Tradier before relying on a quote.
Can I route to several Tradier accounts?
Yes. Add each account with its own token and account ID, then tick the ones you want on the order ticket.
