Tastytrade multi-account options in TraderDesk
TraderDesk connects to Tastytrade with API credentials linked to your Tastytrade account. The connection is built around listed options: you can review a chain, load a multi-leg strategy, check payoff and Greeks, then route the basket to the Tastytrade accounts you select. Options approval stays with Tastytrade.
What routes
What can you route on Tastytrade?
Options-focused accounts and multi-leg orders. Segments below are the ones the current build shows. Your account still needs the permissions and data subscriptions the broker requires.
- Listed options and multi-leg strategies on Tastytrade accounts.
- The options chain, payoff graph and Greeks before routing.
- Several Tastytrade accounts, each added as its own connection.
- Per-account results after a basket is sent.
Setup
How to connect Tastytrade to TraderDesk
Four steps. The exact labels differ in the broker's dashboard, but the sequence is the same.
- 01
Confirm options approval
Check the options level on the Tastytrade account. The strategies you can send are limited by that approval.
- 02
Create API credentials
Use the Tastytrade developer or API settings to create credentials for the connection, and keep the secret secure.
- 03
Add the account in TraderDesk
Choose Tastytrade, enter the credentials and label the account so you can identify it on the ticket.
- 04
Send a small test basket
Start with a single-leg or small defined-risk order to confirm the connection and the per-account report.
Before you go live
- Options approval levels and permitted strategies are set by Tastytrade.
- Multi-leg orders can be rejected if the account does not permit the strategy or the legs are not available.
- Market data entitlements depend on the Tastytrade account.
- Tastytrade does not offer futures through this connection.
Multi-account
Can you trade several Tastytrade accounts at once?
Add each account as its own connection, then tick the accounts you want on the order ticket. Each account reports its own result, so a rejection on one does not hide the outcome on another.
- Every account has its own label on the order ticket.
- The send button states how many accounts will receive the order.
- Results are shown per account after the order is sent.
- Risk limits are applied before routing, on your PC.
Tastytrade questions
Common Tastytrade questions
What does TraderDesk use Tastytrade for?
Listed options, including multi-leg baskets built in the options and multi-leg tabs. The order is sent to Tastytrade; TraderDesk does not hold the position.
Why was my Tastytrade multi-leg order rejected?
Common reasons include the account's options approval level, a leg that is not tradable, insufficient buying power or a strategy the broker does not accept as a single order.
Can I route the same options basket to several Tastytrade accounts?
Yes, where each account permits the strategy and has the buying power. Tick the accounts on the ticket and review each result separately.
Does TraderDesk show Tastytrade Greeks?
TraderDesk calculates payoff and Greeks in its own multi-leg builder. They are model estimates for your review, not Tastytrade data or advice.
